PORTFOLIO
Below are a few samples of my writing and editing work. These cover a wide range of topics, genres, and writing styles. If you are looking for a particular style of writing, I can probably find a specific example for you from my own archive. Email me at michael@michaelkwan.com for specific requests.
Technology News, Rumours, and Reviews
Articles I produce for Mobile Magazine are designed to be quick-hitting, informative, and timely. In the sample below, I talk about the much awaited iPhone convergence device from Apple, said to combine the functionality of a cell phone with the music-playing of an iPod. Digg.com is a very prominent "communal bookmarking" site, and its founder -- Kevin Rose -- went on the record to confirm the iPhone's existence.

Copywriting and Voiceover Scripts
Chimera Technology provides a complete turn-key solution for business owners wanting to open an online gaming site. I wrote the voiceover script on which a Flash-based sales presentation was designed. The presentation has been shown at trade shows and is included on a CD as part of the company's sales package to potential clients.

Event Coverage
As the Chief Correspondent for The Commentary, I have the opportunity to cover a wide range of trade shows, exhibitions, and community events. I have attended such shows as Eat! Vancouver, Sport Compact Nights, and the Pet Expo. This sample is a review I did for the annual Slam City Jam skateboarding championships. I am proud to say that a Canadian took home the top prize at this event.

Human Interest and Biography
I started writing for the June 2002 issue (#23) of Arts@Work, and went on to become the co-editor for the 2004-05 academic year. This article is a biography of alumnus Winnie Low. I explore her diverse experiences with the Arts Co-op Program and where she hopes to go with her Bachelor of Arts degree.
